The three-day, English-speaking conference, which was conceived and organized by the Diversity Management department of the TU Dresden in collaboration with the coordinators of several DFG-coordinated programmes, offers a platform for intensive exchange, networking and career development every two years. In addition to various workshops and coaching on individual development and career planning, the female researchers also get to talk to role models – female professors and researchers in leadership positions – during a chimney evening.
The conference was primarily aimed at female researchers from participating DFG-coordinated programs and cooperation institutions (Barkhausen Institute) as well as female researchers from the Women@DDC network. A total of 80 places were available. The conference was financed by the equality funds of the DFG-funded projects.
Two doctoral students and two postdocs from the CPEC team took part in the conference and Andrea Liebscher was involved in organizing the event.
At the end the scientists were extremely enthusiastic, inspired and happy to have taken part in the BeWise conference despite their busy projects and many commitments. They are now strengthened and ready to implement their scientific projects, taking away valuable contacts and new ideas as well as plenty of inspiration.
